The Aurora Collection stands behind every timepiece we sell. Our Warranty Policy reflects our commitment to quality, authenticity, and the long-term satisfaction of every collector who trusts us with their acquisition.
Table of Contents
1. Overview
Luxury timepieces are precision mechanical instruments that require care, proper use, and periodic maintenance. Every watch we sell has been inspected and authenticated prior to listing. Where a service was warranted prior to sale, we ensure it has been addressed.
Our Warranty Policy applies to all timepieces purchased through The Aurora Collection and covers defects in materials and workmanship that were not disclosed at the time of sale. The terms of coverage vary depending on the specific piece, its age, service history, and the conditions agreed upon at the time of purchase.
2. The Aurora Collection Warranty
Every timepiece purchased through The Aurora Collection is backed by our own Aurora Collection Quality Guarantee. This guarantee is separate from and may supplement any applicable manufacturer warranty.
The duration and specific terms of the Aurora Collection Warranty are communicated at the time of each sale. Standard warranty periods are as follows:
| Timepiece Category | Standard Warranty Period |
|---|---|
| Recently serviced pre-owned timepieces (serviced within 12 months of sale) | 12 months from date of delivery |
| Pre-owned timepieces in excellent running condition | 6 months from date of delivery |
| Vintage timepieces or pieces sold with disclosed condition considerations | Discussed and agreed upon individually at the time of sale |
| Timepieces with valid, transferable manufacturer warranty | Manufacturer warranty duration plus our guarantee as stated at sale |
Specific warranty terms for your purchase will be confirmed in writing at the time of sale.
3. What Is Covered
The Aurora Collection Warranty covers the following, subject to the terms and duration agreed upon at the time of sale:
3.1 Movement and Mechanical Function
- Defects in the movement that were not disclosed at the time of sale and that prevent the watch from keeping accurate time within the manufacturer's specified tolerance
- Mechanical failures of the movement not caused by misuse, impact, or magnetic exposure
- Failures of complication functions (e.g., date, chronograph, GMT, moon phase) not caused by user error
- Crown and pusher mechanism failures not caused by misuse or water damage
3.2 Case and Water Resistance
- Failures of the case back seal resulting in moisture ingress, where the watch was not exposed to conditions exceeding its stated water resistance rating
- Manufacturing defects in the case or crystal that were not visible or disclosed at the time of sale
3.3 Authenticity
- If any timepiece we sold is determined by the original manufacturer to be non-genuine, we will provide a full refund of the purchase price, regardless of when the issue is discovered (see Section 8: Authenticity Guarantee)
4. What Is Not Covered
The following are expressly excluded from warranty coverage:
4.1 Normal Wear and Aging
- Scratches, scuffs, or surface marks on the case, crystal, bracelet, or clasp that develop through normal use
- Fading, patina, or color changes in the dial, hands, or luminous material consistent with the age and use of the timepiece
- Gradual degradation of leather, rubber, or textile straps
- Normal loss of accuracy over time due to general wear or the inherent characteristics of a mechanical movement
4.2 Damage from Misuse or Negligence
- Physical damage caused by impact, dropping, crushing, or exposure to extreme pressure
- Water damage resulting from exposure to water beyond the watch's stated water resistance rating, or submersion with a compromised crown or case back
- Damage caused by exposure to strong magnetic fields, extreme temperatures, or corrosive chemicals
- Damage resulting from operation of a complication function in a manner contrary to the manufacturer's instructions
- Any damage sustained during unauthorized opening of the caseback
4.3 Unauthorized Service or Modification
- Any watch that has been serviced, repaired, polished, or modified by anyone other than an authorized service center after delivery from The Aurora Collection
- Any damage or failure resulting from parts or components not originally fitted to the watch by the manufacturer or an authorized service center
4.4 Pre-Disclosed Conditions
- Any condition, defect, or characteristic that was disclosed to the buyer in writing at the time of sale. When we disclose a condition issue before sale, that issue is understood and accepted by the buyer as part of the agreed transaction
5. Manufacturer Warranty
When a timepiece is sold with an active, transferable manufacturer warranty, we will provide all available warranty documentation with the piece, including the original warranty card when present. Manufacturer warranty terms are determined solely by the original manufacturer and are subject to their policies, which may require servicing at authorized service centers.
The following should be noted regarding manufacturer warranties on pre-owned timepieces:
- Manufacturer warranty cards may be dated from the original retail sale, meaning remaining warranty coverage depends on the original purchase date
- Not all manufacturers honor warranty claims on the secondary market; we will disclose this information when known at the time of sale
- Vintage timepieces generally do not carry active manufacturer warranties; our Aurora Collection Warranty is the primary coverage for such pieces
- For warranty service under a manufacturer warranty, the watch must typically be returned to an authorized service center for that brand
6. How to Make a Warranty Claim
- Contact us promptly: If you believe your timepiece has developed a defect covered under our warranty, contact us at info@auroracollectionboutique.com or +1 (321) 576-3515 as soon as possible
- Describe the issue: Provide a detailed description of the defect, when it was first noticed, and any relevant context. Photographs or videos documenting the issue are highly encouraged
- Provide purchase documentation: Have your purchase agreement, invoice, or any written communication confirming your purchase available for reference
- Assessment: Our team will review your claim and determine the appropriate course of action, which may include requesting that the watch be sent to us for inspection, referring you to a manufacturer-authorized service center, or arranging a resolution directly
- Resolution: Depending on the nature of the claim, resolution may include repair, service, replacement, or partial/full refund at our discretion
7. Service & Repair
Mechanical watches require periodic maintenance regardless of whether any fault is present. The Aurora Collection recommends:
- Periodic service: Most mechanical movements benefit from a complete service every 5–10 years, depending on the caliber and manufacturer recommendations
- Water resistance checks: Water resistance gaskets degrade over time. Annual pressure testing is recommended for watches worn near water
- Authorized service centers: For service and repairs, we recommend using the manufacturer's authorized service center or a reputable independent watchmaker experienced with your specific brand and caliber
- Unauthorized polishing: We advise against polishing watch cases and bracelets unless done by a professional. Improper polishing can permanently damage surfaces and significantly reduce the collectible value of a timepiece
Scheduled maintenance and general service are not covered under our warranty and are the owner's responsibility.
8. Authenticity Guarantee
The Aurora Collection's authenticity guarantee is unconditional and has no time limit. Every timepiece we offer for sale has been inspected and authenticated by our team. We represent that all timepieces we sell are genuine examples of the brand and model represented in their listing.
If any timepiece purchased from The Aurora Collection is ever determined to be non-authentic:
- We will provide a full refund of the purchase price paid
- This guarantee applies regardless of when the inauthenticity is discovered
- The timepiece must be returned to us in the condition in which it was received, along with any documentation provided at the time of sale
- We may require independent authentication from an accredited expert or the original manufacturer to process the claim
This authenticity guarantee is a cornerstone of our commitment to the collecting community and will never be compromised.
