Every timepiece that passes through The Aurora Collection follows the same rigorous process — from sourcing to delivery. This is how we work.

1. Sourcing & Selection

Not every watch makes it into our collection. We are selective by conviction, not by constraint. Our sourcing philosophy is guided by three principles: authenticity, condition, and collectible merit.

We source timepieces through:

• Direct collector relationships: Many pieces come to us from collectors looking to responsibly transition their pieces to a new home
• Trade-in program: Our buy-back and trade-in program brings us pieces from clients who are upgrading or evolving their collections
• Trusted dealer network: We maintain relationships with respected dealers and auction houses in the United States and internationally
• Personalized sourcing: When a client is looking for a specific reference, we actively search our network on their behalf

Every candidate watch is evaluated against our internal criteria before it is considered for inclusion in our catalog. Pieces that do not meet our standards are declined, regardless of their provenance or price.

2. Authentication

Authenticity is non-negotiable. Before any timepiece is accepted into our inventory or listed for sale, it undergoes our internal authentication process:

• Reference verification: We confirm that the reference number, model, and year of production are consistent with the manufacturer's documented production records for that reference
• Movement inspection: Where possible and appropriate, the caseback is opened by a qualified watchmaker to inspect the movement. We verify that the caliber, serial number, and finishing are consistent with the stated reference
• Component examination: Dial, hands, case, bracelet, and all components are examined for consistency of finishing, engravings, and markings specific to the genuine reference
• Documentation review: Original box, warranty cards, papers, and service records are reviewed and cross-referenced where available
• Expert consultation: For especially rare, valuable, or complex references, we consult with brand specialists, accredited authenticators, or authorized service centers

3. Quality Control

Authentication confirms what a watch is. Quality control confirms what condition it is in. Every piece in our catalog has been assessed for:

Mechanical Condition

• Movement timing accuracy (tested over multiple positions)
• Functionality of all complications (chronograph, date, GMT, moon phase, etc.)
• Crown and pusher operation
• Winding and hacking function
• Power reserve performance

Physical Condition

• Case and bracelet surface condition (scratches, polishing history, edge wear)
• Crystal condition (clarity, scratches, chips)
• Dial and hand condition (aging, lume integrity, printing)
• Clasp and deployment function
• Case back integrity and engravings

Condition Disclosure

Every piece is listed with an honest, accurate condition description. We do not hide flaws. If a watch has a scratch, a faded lume pip, or a replaced bracelet link, we tell you. We believe informed buyers are the best buyers.

4. Catalog Listing

Once a timepiece has passed our authentication and quality control process, it is prepared for listing:

• Professional photography: Each watch is photographed extensively under controlled lighting to accurately represent its condition, including detail shots of the dial, case, bracelet, caseback, and any notable characteristics
• Accurate description: We write detailed, accurate descriptions that include the reference number, production period, caliber, case materials, bracelet or strap, included accessories, and condition notes
• Pricing: Prices reflect current market conditions, the completeness of the set, the specific condition of the piece, and its relative rarity. We price fairly and competitively

5. Client Consultation

When a client expresses interest in a piece, the real conversation begins. A member of our team reaches out personally to:

• Answer all questions about the watch, its history, condition, and included accessories
• Provide additional photographs, videos, or documentation upon request
• Discuss the provenance and any service history we are aware of
• Share our genuine perspective on the piece — what makes it interesting, what its collectible potential is, and any considerations a buyer should be aware of
• Understand the buyer's preferences and collection context to ensure this is the right piece for them

We are enthusiasts first. Our goal is not to sell you a watch — it is to help you acquire the right one.

6. Order Confirmation

Once a client decides to proceed, we:

• Confirm final availability and reserve the piece for the buyer
• Agree on all purchase terms in writing: price, payment method, shipping, insurance, and any applicable return or warranty terms
• Conduct any necessary identity verification
• Provide payment instructions through secure, direct communication

No transaction is confirmed until mutual written agreement and cleared payment are in place.

7. Preparation & Packaging

After payment is confirmed:

• The timepiece undergoes a final pre-shipment inspection and is photographed in its shipping-ready condition
• The watch is secured in its original box (when included), which is then wrapped in protective material
• All papers, accessories, spare links, warranty cards, and documentation are organized and included
• The entire set is placed in a professional, discreet outer shipping container with tamper-evident sealing
• Customs and carrier documentation is prepared accurately
• The shipment is fully insured for the declared purchase value

8. Shipping & Tracking

We ship via trusted, insured carriers with direct experience in high-value shipments. Upon dispatch:

• The client receives tracking information and carrier details immediately
• Real-time tracking is available for the entire transit period
• Signature is required upon delivery — no exceptions
• Our team remains available during transit to assist with any concerns

9. Delivery & After-Sale Support

Our relationship with our clients does not end at delivery. After your timepiece arrives:

• We follow up to confirm receipt and that you are fully satisfied with your acquisition
• We are available to answer any questions about the watch, its operation, or care
• We can recommend authorized service centers for your specific brand and caliber
• We are happy to assist with insurance appraisals or documentation
• Clients are welcome to return to us for future acquisitions, trade-ins, or sourcing requests

10. Authenticity Guarantee

The Aurora Collection's authenticity guarantee is unconditional and has no time limit. Every timepiece we offer for sale has been inspected and authenticated by our team. We represent that all timepieces we sell are genuine examples of the brand and model represented in their listing.

If any timepiece purchased from The Aurora Collection is ever determined to be non-authentic:

• We will provide a full refund of the purchase price paid
• The timepiece must be returned to us in the condition in which it was received, along with any documentation provided at the time of sale
• We may require independent authentication from an accredited expert or the original manufacturer to process the claim
